  • New legislation for the betterment of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families

Indaba Coffee Roasters x Fortunata Tattoo Studio DD Awareness Month Fundraiser

For Indaba Cares on Friday, March 7, 10% of sales from Indaba Coffee Roasters will go to The Arc of Spokane in celebration of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month! This includes in-store and online sales.

Fortunata Tattoo Studio is also donating 10% of sales from their First Friday flash event on March 7 from noon-8 p.m. to The Arc of Spokane! Indaba is giving away a free coffee coupon for everyone who gets one of the flash designs during the event.

Dress up in as much pink and purple you can find and get ready to kickstart your heart at The Arc Community Center's Valentine's Sweetheart dance! This dance will be facilitated by trained staff at The Arc, including the amazing DJ Justin!

Light snacks and drinks will be provided. Dressing up is optional but encouraged!

Community Center members attending the day program may stay past 3 pm to attend the event. Pre-registration is preferred so we know how many dancers to expect.

Preparing for Life After High School at Lakeside High School

The Arc of Spokane’s Advocacy & Family Support is excited to announce a one-evening version of Preparing for Life After High School!

The Preparing for Life After High School program is designed to help parents navigate the sometimes-complex support system for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and create a richer life for their child. During this workshop, we will give you the tools to support your child in living a life filled with dignity, choice, and opportunity! Learn from a team of experts who will continue to be available for support and helpful resources through graduation and beyond. It’s never too early to start thinking about next steps, so parents of students 14 and up are encouraged to attend. 

Topics Include:

  • Intro to person-centered planning

  • The importance of self-advocacy

  • Legislative issues relevant to people with IDD and their families

  • Supported decision making

  • Alternatives to guardianship

  • Understanding DDA and SSI

  • Parent/caregiver supports

  • Transition programs/Adulting 101

  • Supported employment

  • Healthy relationships

Separate activities for young adults and siblings will be provided - feel free to bring them along!
Registration for the event is required, as there is limited space. Dinner will be provided for all!

Pizza and Valentines

Share the love with family and friends during a Valentine’s Day-themed pizza party at The Arc of Spokane! This event is free and party goers are invited to make and exchange hand-crafted valentines. This is not a drop off event, individuals with care need are asked to bring support. All ages welcome!

Breakfast with Santa

Jump into the holidays with Parent to Parent and Transition & Young Adult Programs! Join us for this free event filled with holiday cheer including pancakes, Bingo and other activities The big man himself, Santa, will be there for stress-free photos! Throw on your most festive clothes and join us for this special event.

All ages welcome.

The Arc of Spokane offers person-centered programs for teens and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) as they transition into adulthood. The Arc’s Transition & Young Adult Programs (TYAP) provide one-on-one mentoring with local college students, life skills classes, career readiness programs, and other social opportunities and events. Family Support Conference

The Family Support Conference is for caregivers of kids ages 3-15 with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or medically complex children. Connect with local resources and support, learn tools and skills for this stage of life and connect with other families. 

Those registering after November 4 will need to bring their own lunch.
