The Community Center

Our community center is a fun, busy hub of activity with opportunities for adults to learn and grow. People with and without developmental disabilities are encouraged to build friendships in daily or weekly sessions through games, enrichment classes, and group outings around Spokane.

Fee Structure:

The fee structure for the Community Center is based on how many sessions are attended each month. There are two sessions per day: the morning session from 8:30 a.m. - noon, and the afternoon session from noon - 3:30 p.m.

Monthly sessions attended

1 to 13 sessions: $26.25 per session

14 to 20 sessions: $275 per month

21 to 30 sessions: $415 per month

31+ sessions: $600 per month

Sick Policy:

Following CDC and SRHD, if a member contracts/tests positive and has symptoms for COVID-19, the results must be report to the Community Center, and follow the process below.

You can return to the Center and be around others after:

  • 10 days since symptoms first appeared and

  • 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and

  • Other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving

Testing positive for COVID-19 but had no symptoms - If you continue to have no symptoms, you can be with others after 10 days have passed since you had a positive viral test for COVID-19. If you develop symptoms after testing positive, follow the guidance above.

If you are exposed to COVID-19 but did not test positive – you are welcome to come to the Community Center, but please monitor for symptoms and wear a mask for 5 days after exposure.

The Arc’s COVID Task Force has approved the lifting of the vaccination requirement for attendance at the Community Center. To help in this effort, please stay home whenever you have any cold or flu symptoms. If you come to the Center with symptoms, we will unfortunately have to send you home.

If you come to the Center with, or develop such conditions while present, care provider(s) will be contacted to take you home. These conditions include but are not limited to: deep congested cough, excessive nasal discharge, any rashes or sores, flushed appearance, fever or clamminess, sore throat, headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain, head/body lice, unusual irritability, unusual listlessness, complaining of pain, or conjunctivitis (pink eye).

If you are contacted to pick up a member for reasons of illness or behavior, we request that you are on site to pick up within 30 minutes of notification of incident.

Frequent hand washing, hand sanitizing and surface sanitizing will be encouraged and/or performed by Community Center staff.

Title VI Notice to the Public

The Arc of Spokane hereby gives public notice that it is its policy to assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and related statutes and regulations in all programs and activities. Title VI requires that no person in the United States of America shall, on the ground of race, color, sex or national origin, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity for which The Arc receives federal assistance.

Any person who believes they have been discriminated against on the basis of race, color, or national origin by The Arc of Spokane may file a Title VI complaint by completing and submitting The Arc’s Title VI Complaint form. The form must be completed for The Arc to investigate. The Arc of Spokane does not investigate complaints more than one hundred eighty (180) days after the alleged discriminatory occurrence.

Safe Harbor Provision

Safe Harbor Provision according to the US Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Safe Harbor Provision, adopted by US Department of Transportation (DOT), a recipient of federal funds will provide written translation of vital documents for language when the LEP population constitutes five percent (5%) or 1,000 persons of the total population served by the agency.
