EASTERN WASHINGTON 2-1-1

A great starting point to finding the correct organization to address your needs is to call the Eastern Washington 2-1-1 line or visit their website. Eastern Washington 2-1-1 specialists are available to guide you through a comprehensive statewide database of social service resources tailored to your current needs and challenges. Not only can they provide resources, but they can also advocate for you in many ways including assistance with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program applications, contacting agencies directly on your behalf if you are unable to do so, and providing follow-up conversations to check on emergent problems.

CLIENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The Client Assistance Program provides information about Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), Department of Services for the Blind, Independent Living Programs, Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation Programs, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

SPOKANE COUNTY COMMUNITY SERVICES, HOUSING, & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

The Spokane County Community Services, Housing, & Community Development Department (CSHCD) Developmental Disabilities Division (DDD) works in partnership with the Washington Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) to administer a range for specific programs by subcontracting with local agencies to provide support and services, birth through life, to people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Spokane County’s DDD provides child development services for children ages birth to three, transition services, adult employment services, and community education and information services. DDD is also responsible for information, education, and overall coordination and planning of activities relating to services for persons with developmental disabilities:

WASHINGTON CONNECTION

Washington Connections offers a fast and effortless way to apply for a variety of services such as food, cash, childcare, long-term care, Medicare Savings Program, and medical assistance for individuals aged 65 or older, blind, or disabled.

COMMUNITY LIVING CONNECTION

Community Living Connection (CLC) is a department within Aging & Long Term Care of Eastern Washington (ALTCEW) that assists older adults, adults living with disabilities, and caregivers access a wide range of public and private resources and provide the long-term care services and support necessary for individuals to remain in the community for as long as possible. The Resource Center of Spokane County provides resources and support to help ensure that all aspects of a person’s personal and professional life are addressed in order to increase their opportunities. Just some of the services they provide include: free cell phone programs; low-cost internet service and computer equipment; energy assistance; SSI and SSDI assistance; Financial Literacy, Responsible Renters, and First-Time Home Buyers classes; Substance-Use Disorder and mental health assessments and referrals; counseling referrals; assistance in signing up for State medical insurance; and work readiness programs.
