NEW LOCATION OF THE ARC THRIFT STORE TO OPEN IN NORTH SPOKANE IN DECEMBER 2023

The Arc of Spokane is excited to announce the opening of a new thrift store in north Spokane at 11008 N Newport Hwy in December 2023. The Arc Thrift Store at 808 N Ruby St will close prior to the opening of the new north Spokane location.

“Our north store is absolutely beautiful and will provide customers with a superior thrift shopping experience,” Chief Executive Officer Sima Thorpe said. “Our thrift stores help raise awareness of The Arc’s services and programs. Opening this store will extend our reach to north Spokane and rural communities.”

All proceeds from the thrift stores go towards services The Arc provides for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families. Currently, The Arc operates about 30 different programs and services that ensure people with IDD and their families have support for employment, healthcare, community engagement, in schools, and more. Through Parent to Parent, a support network for parents of a child with IDD, The Arc has also has a presence in Ferry, Pend Orielle and Stevens counties.

“Moving up North gives us the opportunity to expand our outreach and mission,” director of thrift operations Rose Williamson said. “Expanding to North Spokane with easier access for the northern counties allows us to establish community connections and a strong presence to help realize our strategic plan goals. We strive to provide a high quality thrift experience where people can feel great about supporting our mission.”

Details regarding a closing date for the location on Ruby St., and a soft opening and later grand opening for the Newport Hwy location will be shared soon.
