The Arc of Spokane’s Advocacy & Family Support is excited to announce a one-evening version of Life After High School!
The Life After High School program is designed to help parents navigate the sometimes-complex support system for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and create a richer life for their child.
Topics Include:
Intro to person-centered planning
The importance of self-advocacy
Legislative issues relevant to people with IDD and their families
Supported decision making
Alternatives to guardianship
Understanding DDA
Understanding DDA and SSI
Parent/caregiver supports
Transition programs/Adulting 101
Supported employment
Healthy relationships
Separate activities for young adults and siblings will be provided - feel free to bring them along!
Registration for the event is required, as there is limited space. Dinner will be provided for all!
