As part of their season program, Mid-Columbia Ballet, a nonprofit pre-professional ballet company in the Tri-Cities, presents sensory friendly performances that are FREE. This month they are presenting Act 2 of Swan Lake in Hanford High School's Auditorium in Richland, WA on Sunday, May 21!
Mid-Columbia Ballet will turn on the lights, lower the music, and invite individuals with disabilities and their family to a sensory-friendly performance of one of the most beloved ballets of all time. This relaxed 35-minute performance has been specially created to serve individuals who have sensory needs. The performance is free to attend but they ask that each family register prior to the event.
In addition to the adjusted volumes of light and sound, you can experience the show in your own way, without the need to worry about members of your group needing to move around or make sounds during the performance. It's a "shush-free zone" so you never have to feel self-conscious or worried about disrupting others. The event will also include a space for a break in the lobby (if needed).
Call (509) 946-5417 to register for tickets to this special performance.
