Supported Employment

With over 20 years of experience in specialized employment services for people with developmental disabilities, The Arc of Spokane is a recognized leader in the field and accredited to provide employment services through the Washington State Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). Our program finds employment opportunities on an individual basis or in a group setting.  We also help people develop marketable work skills. We provide:

  • Skill and interest assessments
  • Resume development
  • Interview preparation
  • Job placement
  • Job coaching
  • Employer training
  • Career development

Individual Supported Employment
Many people with developmental disabilities are model employees. Our Individual Supported Employment program helps people find work that fits their needs and abilities by providing placement and follow-up services. People in this program work in local businesses side-by-side with co-workers who don't have disabilities. Group Supported Employment
The Arc works with local businesses to find employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities in a group setting. On-site managers ensure safety while encouraging skill development and work integration. Our employee enclaves have contributed significantly to the success of local businesses. Pathway to Employment

Pathway to Employment is designed to provide meaningful work experience for adults with developmental disabilities who may not yet have the skills necessary for a full or part-time job. This program matches a person's interests, needs and abilities to task-specific activities in the community that help build marketable job skills.
