How is The Arc of Spokane unique from other Arc chapters?

There are about 850 independent chapters of The Arc across the United States.  The primary mission of all Arc chapters is to advocate for a better life for people with developmental disabilities and their families.  The Arc of Spokane is unique because, in addition to our active advocacy effort, we also provide direct services like The Arc Community Center, Financial Management, Home ownership Opportunities, Residential Support and Supported Employment services.

These programs not only meet the immediate needs of hundreds of people with developmental disabilities in our community, they help us understand those needs better.  This understanding is vitally important to our advocacy effort.

With an operating budget of $5 million and 170 employees, The Arc of Spokane is the largest chapter of The Arc in Washington and one of the largest in the United States.
