How do clothing donations benefit The Arc?
We have a contract with Savers, the company that owns the region's Value Village stores, allowing us to sell the clothes you donate to them. For every pound of clothing we deliver to Savers, we get a set amount in return.
After taxes and expenses, The Arc earns about $100,000 a year from clothing donations. This helps meet budget shortfalls at The Arc Community Center and within Advocacy and Family Support. Without your clothing donations, we couldn't afford to fully operate these programs.
When making a donation, please remember:
- Although we also accept household goods, your clothing donations benefit us the most.
- Also, although you can donate directly to Value Village, your donation to directly to us is far more helpful.
