The Committee on Emergency Preparedness for Persons with Specific Needs
As local communities prepare for the ever-present possibility of natural or man-made emergencies across the country, Spokane is taking the additional step of considering carefully the specific needs of people in our community with physical or intellectual disabilities. A committe made up of municipal and non-profit professionals has been meeting to consider ways in which community resources can meet the unique needs of this population. Of course, there's a lot to consider, but communicating is the first step. For those who are interested, we've posted the minutes of the committee's last meeting. Keep watching for more information.
